Traducido al inglés por Natalia Bitar

Only in a dream Doctor Jekyll manages to meet his friend Mr Hyde
face to face. He’s paralized in front of the intimidating shape, but finally he manages to speak to him:

“This experiment has got out of our hands”, he says conciliatorily. “This dissociation cannot go on. You’ve become an uncontrollable murderer and I cannot allow it...”
“Come on…” interrupts Hyde. “What dissociation are you talking about?”

Publicado en español en Cuentos que muerden: "Invitación"

Pedro goes back home with a work partner, whom he has invited to meet his young wife.
“It’s here”, he announces. “Come in...”
“Excuse me”, says the well mannered partner and both walk into the living room.
Immediately after Pedro stays still. His partner notices his gesture of surprise.
“What’s the matter?”, he asks.
“You won’t believe me”, says Pedro. “But this is not my home”.
“What?”, confused says his partner.
Through a door, an old man appears. Before he says anything, Pedro goes on ahead “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, excuse me sir. It’s just a mistake. I never meant to get into this house.”
He grabs his partner by the arm and they get out.
Once outside, Pedro keeps on apologizing. Finally, he says: “Don’t worry, it usually happens to me, but I already know the way.
He picks the door handle and knocks on the door firmly several times until a click is heard.
“Now’s ok”, he asures. “Let’s get in…”
So while he’s closing the door he says:
“This is my wife...”

Lover - Juan Romagnoli

Texto en español en La nave de los locos: "Amante"

Traducido al inglés por Natalia Bitar

With the excuse to go to the teller, I ran out at night - alone and in light clothes – to meet him. It’s that I miss him, I desire him. He’s so intelligent, soft and helpful and his position so solid. He’s so reserved and gentle. We recognize each other by a password and so he welcomes me.

The furtive act leads us on eagerness. As I need to go back soon to serve dinner, we don’t take too long and there’s almost no time for farewells. While I straighten my dress and put my things away in my handbag, he reminds me not to leave my card in. As soon as I go out, he shuts the door discreetly.

The boy and the sea - Juan Romagnoli

Texro en español en Master de Brevería. "El niño y el mar".

Traducido al inglés por Natalia Bitar.

In the mornings, the boy digs a hole in the sand of the beach. Before midday, he patiently and promptly starts to carry water from the sea to the hole in his very tiny bucket. Towards sunset, when his mother insists on their leaving, he says goodbye to the early moon and promises it to empty the ocean one day. Then, water filters through the bottom of the hole and goes slowly back to the sea so - before nightfall - the tide goes up again.

Quarrels - Juan Romagnoli

Texto en español en Cuentos y más: "Peleas".

Traducido al inglés por Natalia Bitar.

When we quarrel, my wife is used to telling me:
“One cannot speak to you seriously. You behave like a child”.
I try to control my temper and explain to her that it is not so; but it annoys me when she fills up my mouth with that pap so I spit it out and throw a tantrum.
